Stuttgart's Indian Film Festival concluded

(sc) The Indian Film Festival (IFF), celebrated as one of the most significant events for the Indian community in Germany, took into its scope the entire spectrum of current feature films, shorts and documentaries. The festival which was held in Stuttgart offers both, established directors and emerging production companies a platform for film screenings, presentations and lively discussions with Indian film admirers from all over Europe. A short conclusion by Sudipto Chatterjee.

Stuttgart's city centre provides a one-of-a-kind backdrop for the festival's welcoming film screenings, lending them a theatrical atmosphere.

On the opening day of the IFF, the red-carpet saw the entry of the dignitaries and prominent personalities of film fraternity, amongst them H.E. Gurjit Singh, the newly appointed Ambassador of India to Germany, and Ms. Tannishtha Chatterjee, whose film "Parched" was endorsed as the opening movie. This year’s festival was once again largely supported by the Lapp Group and enjoyed the cheerful presence of Mr. Andreas Lapp at the opening and closing ceremonies.

Joyful performances of Mr. Derrick Linco and his ensemble throughout the festival awed the passerbys in the city centre and contributed to the truly Indian spirit of the event.

The screenings started in the afternoon on the weekdays and in the mornings over the weekends and included films for all the age categories which makes the IFF a real family festival. Each film was celebrated in its many facets, with an opportunity for the audience to review the film and having a direct Q&A session with directors, producers and actors right after the screening. In addition, the IFF also offered “Tea Talks”, which focused on a wide range of currently pertinent topics and indeed strengthened Indo-German understanding.

What can be more said than: save the date for the 14th Indian Film Festival: 19-23 July 2017?
